calling all Volunteers!

Southwest Football League, is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, that requires the time & talents of our SFL parents. The success of the SFL cheer division is based on a foundation of parent volunteerism. All families are expected to fulfill a volunteer duty during the season.  Volunteer jobs will be chosen at the parent meeting when you meet your squad coaches. Each volunteer job, falls under one of the Auxiliary board members and they will ensure you have what you need to succeed in your volunteer role.  Please find below details of available volunteer duties per squad for our 2025 cheer season.

2025 SFL CHEER VOLUNTEER JOBS

SQUAD PHOTOGRAPHER

Responsibility includes taking photos thru out the season of your squad at games & events. Pictures will be sent to Auxiliary Social Media Chair for sharing.

PICTURE COORDINATOR

Responsible for communicating with the squad about team/individual picture day, providing instructions for ordering and being on site day of pictures to help your squad. Also responsible for distribution of squad photo orders.

PHOTO ROSTER

Must be available during camp on the last day to come take individual headshots of each cheerleader on your squad. This position will work with the Spirit Chair, and must have an understanding of how to use Dropbox. These photos are used for squad rosters and SFL cheerleader photo buttons.

UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION

Partners with Auxiliary Uniform Chairs; managing any uniform sorting once uniforms are delivered. Responsible for distribution/pick up of uniform items for your squad.

MUSIC COORDINATOR

Responsible for managing half time performance music. Will receive a music file file from Auxiliary Choreographer chair that will be played at halftime. Music coordinators are to ensure accurate coverage for role if they are unable to be at game.

CAMP CRAFT-GIVE BACK

This role will take place on Wednesday of Camp working with Auxiliary Camp Chairs & Spirit Chairs. This position will help facilitate the craft and giving back activity that the auxiliary chairs have planned

CAMP CHECK-IN

This role will arrive to camp on Monday August 4th at 8:00am to help with check-in of cheerleaders as they arrive to their first day of camp

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

FNL volunteers will work with the Auxiliary Friday Night Chair, organizing and executing a fun filled evening. This will include planning food trucks, FNL swag, games, decor & building the hype for an amazing evening

RICE TAILGATE

This role serves on the Rice Tailgate committee led by the Auxiliary Board chair for the Rice Tailgate. This position includes helping to plan, execute & manage the tailgate the day of the Rice Halftime performance

RICE GAME

The Rice game volunteer is a vital role for the day of the halftime performance for the Rice Game. This role will help manage all cheerleaders as we move into the stadium and remain with the squad when in the stands, help with bathroom runs, water bottles and pom management

RICE PRACTICE

This volunteer will be available the week of the Rice game for our double practices and be on site for the practice to help with logistics of girls arriving, dismissal and on the practice field.

SQUAD PARENT

This role will serve as an assistant to the lead and assistant coaches during the season. Duties could include setting up WhatsApp, ensuring weekly prizes are returned, helping answer squad questions.  This role will help during the week of the Rice Game.

CARPOOL

This role will be responsible for fulfilling carpool shifts that are assigned by squad at camp & practice. The carpool volunteer is  responsible for ensuring the day(s) their squad is assigned the slots are filled.

SPIRIT POSTERS & STICKS

This role is coordinated by our camp chairs, and will be a one day volunteer duty in the summer. There will be one from each squad and you will meet to make spirit posters for camp and the spirit sticks for the cheerleaders (2 spirit sticks per squad)

BANQUET

This role will help with decor, set up and clean up at the banquet and falls under the Auxiliary banquet chair. The position may include helping to organize parts of the banquet. The banquet is held at Braeburn Country Club and will be Sunday November 9th at 5:30pm
